As you know from prior correspondence, my uncle, Jack Staton, was killed on one of the missions.

I am the Majority Leader of the West Virginia House of Delegates. We have decided to name and dedicate a bridge in Mullens, West Virginia, to my uncle. In order to assist in the preparation of the authorizing resolution, I need your assistance. I would appreciate if you would send me a narrative of the history of the bomb group and the mission it was flying on the day you were shot down, where you were going, whether you completed the mission, and other facts on the crew. I will gladly share the resolution with you when it is adopted by the Legislature. I appreciate very much your assistance in this and in the other guidance you have given my family. You have helped bring closure to a traumatic event in my family's history.
