Letters from friends & family

From Margaret (Lesko) & Arthur Marvan - Eleanor (Lesko) & Matthew O'Kresz

" After reading our brother, George Lesko's website, our hearts swelled with pride and gratitude that he and his fellow veterans were finally being given the recognition and appreciation they so richly deserve. George is the middle child in our family. He was fortunate enough to be born to a father who was bright, enterprising, a sportsman admired for his physical strength and outgoing nature, a pillar in the community and a beautiful mother who was strong and resourceful and who instilled in him, with loving sternness, all the qualities that made him become the man that he is. Our father died unexpectedly at an early age, leaving behind a young wife, two daughters and a son in his early teens - - who was the apple of his father's eye. George always was a bright, inquisitive and energetic youngster, which got him involved in all sorts of childish capers. He left home for the Army Air Force at the tender age of 17 and has subsequently lived in various places with his family. His accomplishments are many, his energy unsurpassed. Perhaps losing our father so early helped meld the closeness of our family. My sister and I and our husbands have enjoyed the ripple effect of George's experiences, especially the last three years and we feel fortunate indeed that we could. Margaret (Lesko) & Arthur Marvan - Eleanor (Lesko) & Matthew O'Kresz"
